KU Writing Center» - Writing groups, consultations, and special events designed to help graduate students with their writing.

  • One on One consultations: Students may schedule a one-on-one graduate writing consultation in Anschutz Library or get feedback via email or videoconference. Schedule on our Writing Center homepage
  • Appointments with the Graduate Writing Specialist: : Dr. Claire McMurray can help students with adjusting to graduate-level writing, overcoming writer’s block, publishing journal articles, writing grant/fellowship applications, completing academic job applications, and thesis/dissertation coaching.   • Graduate/Research Write-Ins: Students bring their writing projects to Watson Library for a quiet day of uninterrupted work. They may also get help with writing, research, citations, or formatting. Register for the write-ins through the write-ins webpage. Upcoming dates: Saturday, March 3 and Saturday, April 7.

Military-Affiliated Student Resources

KU Military-Affiliated Student Center (KU MSC) - provides services tailored to military-affiliated students from application to graduation and career transition.

Office of Graduate Military Programs (GMP) - assists military service members in obtaining advanced civilian educational degrees. As the liaison between the University of Kansas and the Department of Defense (DOD), the GMP office coordinates with the U.S. Armed Forces’ academic institutions and combatant commands to develop specialized academic programs that meet military requirements.

Legal Services and Conflict Assistance

Ombuds Officeis a safe place where members of the University of Kansas community can seek informal, independentconfidential and impartial assistance in addressing conflicts, disputes, or complaints on an informal basis without fear of retaliation or judgment.
